Our team brings together experienced engineers and technical specialists working with vessel electrical, automation and propulsion systems. We are involved throughout the full lifecycle of a solution, from initial engineering and system integration to commissioning, technical support and maintenance.

As a Systems Engineer, you take a system-level view of the vessel’s electrical, automation and hybrid energy systems. You define how the system should behave in different operating modes, how subsystems communicate with each other and what happens when something does not work as planned.

You will be responsible for questions such as:
- How should the vessel behave in each operating mode?
- What happens during transitions between systems and power sources?
- How should different suppliers’ equipment communicate?
- What should the system do when a component fails?
- How do we prove that the final solution meets customer and classification requirements?

Define control philosophies, operating modes, transitions, interlocks and fault behaviour
You will

Describe interfaces between equipment from different suppliers, including batteries, inverters, generators and automation systems

Prepare functional descriptions, interface and alarm lists, and test procedures

Take systems through FAT, HAT and SAT testing, commissioning and sea trials

Work with classification societies and contribute to the required technical documentation

Critically evaluate supplier solutions and technical documentation
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Your current job title matters less than how you think about systems.
You have a technical background and experience working with complex systems where electrical, automation or other technical disciplines come together.
You don't need to know every marine-specific detail from day one. What matters is that you can understand how systems interact, work systematically through technical requirements and take responsibility for finding the right solution.
What you need to succeed in this role

A technical or engineering education gives you a solid foundation for the role, whether completed or still in progress

You have experience working with electrical systems in marine or a comparable industrial environment

PLC-based control, communication between devices, and control and alarm systems are familiar territory to you

Reading, evaluating and preparing technical documentation is part of your everyday working routine

You have a high understanding in English language and can work confidently in technical English

You are a systematic thinker, comfortable working independently and skilled at identifying root causes
